A cloudy start with overnight rain soon clearing eastwards. Some brighter spells developing with sharp showers breaking out by midday. Showers largely dying out later this afternoon. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear periods. It will be a chilly night and there will be a few patches of mist and fog later tonight. Light winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Tuesday:

Dry, sunny, chilly start. Becoming cloudy during the morning with outbreaks of rain in the west in the afternoon, possibly edging further eastwards later. Freshening southeast winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Mainly dry on Wednesday and Thursday with some sunshine. Becoming cloudy on Friday with rain spreading eastwards to all parts during the day.

Most likely dry and often bright across much of the UK at the start of this period, although more cloud, and some rain are possible across western areas. Little changes through the first weekend, although the chance of a few heavy showers increases across the south. Into the following week, it will most probably be high pressure dominated, with large amounts of fine weather, and perhaps the odd heavy shower, especially in the south. However, there is a small chance of an alternative scenario coming off, with cloudier and wetter weather more extensive, especially across the south and west of the UK. Winds are most likely to be light, with temperatures probably at or slightly above normal.

The period begins with the two alternate scenarios continuing, most likely widely dry and settled, but a lower chance of more unsettled and wet conditions, especially in the south and west. Towards the middle of the month signals become weak and mixed, with more balanced chances of dry / settled and wetter / unsettled conditions. But compared to the start of this period, this represents an increased chance of more unsettled / wet conditions. There is however a strong signal for temperatures to be at or above average.
