This Evening and Tonight:

A band of heavy rain will spread east during the evening, accompanied by strong southerly winds and coastal gales. Rain and winds will ease overnight then showers follow from the west later. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Tuesday:

Cloudy with scattered showers at first then becoming brighter as showers ease in the afternoon. A cool and windy day. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Breezy with sunshine and a few showers on Wednesday. Sunshine with scattered heavy showers on Thursday and Friday with light winds.

The unsettled weather of previous days is expected to continue at least through the start of this period, with many - if not all - areas seeing showers or longer spells of rain, and occasionally strong winds. At first, wet weather may be focussed across the south of the UK but it looks like this focus will fairly quickly shift northwards during the first few days. Towards the middle of June, there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant, at least in the south. This would result in some longer periods of drier weather, although unsettled spells remain likely. Following a rather cool start to this period, there is a greater chance of warmer spells towards mid-June.

Changeable weather is most likely across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods, perhaps with a bias towards longer dry spells early in the period. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times especially across the south.
