Today:

Largely cloudy and cool with heavy showers, these locally thundery and prolonged. Warm sunny spells developing by the afternoon but heavy showers and thunderstorms remain possible. Gusty winds at times Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Showers becoming increasingly isolated this evening, although a few continuing into the early hours. Turning rather chilly and even cold enough for a local grass frost in prone rural spots. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

A drier day than on Saturday with all areas seeing some sunshine at times. Scattered showers are likely but some places will remain dry. Breezy but feeling a little warmer. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mainly dry early next week with a mixture of cloud and periods of strong sunshine. Lighter winds than of late and turning warmer.

The start of this period is likely to be quite unsettled but also widely warm or very warm, perhaps locally hot in parts of the south and east. Some showers and thunderstorms are likely to affect most parts but there will also be some sunshine. Over the weekend and into the start of the following week, most parts will become drier. However, there may be another brief spell of rain with a risk of some thunderstorms, before high pressure more firmly builds in from the west. The rest of the following week looks like being mainly dry with variable cloud and some sunshine and often warm or very warm. The far north may be largely cloudy with a threat of some more rain at times though.

Mid-June will probably see a good deal of dry weather across the UK due to the influence of high pressure, especially in the south, although some thundery outbreaks are still possible. Toward the end of June and start of July, details are uncertain but conditions may become more changeable with some periods of unsettled weather. Above average temperatures are more likely than below with some hot spells possible.
