Today:

Storm Claudia brings widespread rain, this heavy in many areas, leading to a risk of flooding and challenging driving conditions. Windy too, with severe gale force winds in places. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

The wind and rain continuing for much of the night though heavier spells of rain easing by the morning. A chilly night ahead. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Saturday:

Spots of rain to start but turning drier later. Often cloudy. Windy to start though any strong, gusty winds easing. Feeling colder. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Turning brighter from Sunday but notably colder in northerly winds, with overnight frosts possible. A chance of more cloud around on Tuesday.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all parts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears Wednesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period, there is likely to be a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
