Today:

Thursday should be largely dry with variable cloud and bright or sunny spells. Perhaps the odd light shower around. Generally light winds. Still very mild. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud thickens from the south overnight bringing outbreaks of rain, some heavy. A strengthening and gusty easterly breeze developing, giving a chillier feel. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Friday:

A wet day Friday with further heavy and persistent rain throughout. This will be accompanied by a strong and gusty east wind and feeling colder. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Further rain, heavy and persistent, moving northwards Friday and persisting into early Saturday. Rain gradually easing Saturday. Feeling colder, with a strong and gusty easterly wind. Drier and brighter Sunday.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all pasts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears later Tuesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
