Today:

Wednesday will be a very similar day to Tuesday with cloudy skies continuing for most of us. A slightly better chance of brighter spells developing by the afternoon, especially in the north and west. Feeling rather cool under the cloud. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

A mostly cloudy and rather mild night will then follow. Some cloud breaks are possible in the west, where some patchy fog may form and it will turn chilly. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Thursday:

Little change in the weather pattern on Thursday. Remaining rather cloudy, dry with light winds. Some brightness at times with temperatures near the seasonal norm. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Remaining settled, mostly cloudy and dry at first with some brighter spells and overnight fog. A change on Sunday as rain and brisker winds arrive from the west.

A rather unsettled pattern is likely through much of this period, as low pressure systems originating over the North Atlantic trundle east or northeastwards across the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times, but also interspersed with some drier and brighter interludes, albeit these generally of shorter duration than the recent settled spell. Later in the period, there may be a transition to a slightly cooler and more showery northwesterly regime, as high pressure builds over the Atlantic to the west, and low pressure becomes centred to the east of the UK. Temperatures are likely to be near or slightly above average overall, although may trend slightly below normal later

It is likely to be changeable at first, with a showery northwesterly regime most favoured across the UK. Into November, an unsettled pattern is anticipated, as low pressure systems over the Atlantic track across the UK. These may be shifted farther south than normal, bringing showers or longer spells of rain fairly widely, perhaps also accompanied by some strong winds at times. Temperatures will probably be close to or slightly above average overall.
