A largely fine and settled day, with light winds. Feeling pleasant in any prolonged spells of sunshine, though the odd light shower remains possible in the east. Frost reforming overnight. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

From Wednesday, turning milder and unsettled, as bands of rain move in from the west. Winds picking up towards the weekend with blustery showers possible.

Some heavy rain or showers are expected, most often in the west, although with a risk some of this could spread to other areas at times. Snow will probably be confined to high ground in the north. Periods of strong wind are possible, especially around coasts and if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier weather are possible, particularly in the southeast. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly above overall.

Later in the month, details are uncertain but it may become wetter in the south and perhaps a little drier in the north. Temperatures will probably be above average overall.
