Friday:

Cloudy to the west to start, more in the way of sunny spells to the east. The odd shower possible over the Pennines, dry elsewhere. Warm or very warm. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Area of rain and heavy thundery showers moves northward Saturday morning, further showers during the afternoon. Sunday and Monday likely seeing showers and sunny spells. Temperatures cooling over the weekend.

A broad north to south split in the weather across the UK during this period. In the south it expected to be predominantly fine and dry, with spells of sunshine by day and clear spells overnight. Any rainfall that does occur will probably be light and patchy, with most places staying dry. Temperatures will likely be above normal for the time of year and it could be hot at times in the southeast. In the north, probably more changeable, especially at first. Here, conditions are expected to be cloudier with some unsettled spells of weather at times, bringing some rain and perhaps strong winds. Temperatures are expected to be close to normal or slightly above.

Following high pressure brining mainly dry and warm weather across the UK, the weather during late June and early July is expected to turn more changeable, with spells of rain or showers probable for all parts at times. Rain or showers could be heavy and thundery, which is normal for the time of year. Temperatures are likely to be above average overall, more likely early in the period, as is the chance of any very warm or hot spells.
