Headline:

Becoming brighter once early low cloud, mist or fog clears.

Today:

After a murky start areas of low cloud, mist or fog will gradually lift and brighter conditions develop, although mainly to southern areas. Remaining largely cloudy across northern areas, with perhaps patchy light rain arriving later. Very mild again. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Generally cloudy with patchy light rain gradually extending southwards, although probably not reaching the far south. Here there is a risk of heavy showers reaching coastal areas later tonight. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday:

Cloud and patchy light rain at first, and perhaps some heavy showers along southern coasts and for the Isle of Wight. Dry and brighter conditions will gradually spread south. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday and Tuesday mainly dry with sunny periods. Tuesday night cloudy conditions with outbreaks of rain may arrive and gradually clear Wednesday. Rather cold or cold with some overnight frosts.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all parts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears Wednesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period, there is likely to be a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of slower evolving weather patterns. This could bring rain or showers with hill snow also a possibility, mainly in the north. However, interspersed, there are also likely to be periods of high pressure, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
