General situation

A low near Faeroes will continue to bring strong winds and showers to many coastal waters, with gales continuing to affect the north of Scotland today and tomorrow. The low will then start to fill and slowly move away to the north, with an area of rain affecting southern coastal waters on Thursday.

The coastal waters around the British Isles are divided into 19 areas which extend up to 12 nautical miles offshore.
