New complex low expected 200 miles west of Rockall 978 by midday on Sunday. Gales expected in southern and central North Sea and the English Channel on Friday evening with strong winds in all other areas. Winds ease for a time on Saturday then gales expected later in Viking, North Utsire, Cromarty and Fair Isle with strong winds in South Utsire, Forties and Forth. Gales ease on Sunday but strong winds developing in all areas. Gales expected in areas north of 56 North on Monday with strong winds in all other areas. No widespread fog is expected
