Additional weather information
Met Office Aberdeen meteorologist's view
A largely sunny day means suitable protection from the sun will be required. Warm temperatures bring a risk of dehydration and heat stress, especially on long climbs.
Weather
A warm day with a good deal of sunshine, though this may be hazy at times and some patches of cloud will bubble up in the afternoon. There is a chance that this will produce a light shower, but mainly staying dry through the day. The odd patch of shallow mist or fog may form in the glens through the early hours, but any of this will clear shortly after dawn. Likely a degree or two warmer than Tuesday.
Chance of cloud-free hill tops
80%
Low cloud and visibility
Summits largely clear and visibilities excellent. Perhaps some patches of shallow mist or fog confined to the glens in the early hours. Any cloud around during the afternoon will be well above summit height. Visibilities may drop briefly should any showers pass by.

Cloudy in the morning with some outbreaks of rain, likely staying driest towards Ben Rinnes and Ladder Hills. Becoming brighter with some sunny spells developing through the afternoon, though the odd shower may feed into the west, turning wintry on the very highest summits. Chance of cloud-free hill tops
50% in the morning, rising to 75% in the afternoon
Maximum wind speed expected
Southwest veering northwest increasing to 25-30mph over the summits
Temperature
- At 800m Plus 6 to plus 10 Celsius
- Glen Plus 10 rising to plus 14 Celsius.
