An unsettled start as further blustery heavy showers feed in from the south through much of the day, possibly thundery. These clearing northeastwards later, allowing for some brighter and drier spells. Windy, especially along the southern coast. Mild. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Showers generally easing this evening to leave a drier night with clear spells. Mist and fog patches possible under the clear skies and lighter winds. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday:

Any mist and fog soon clearing with showers soon moving in, these heavy at times but perhaps less frequent and widespread compared to recent days. Lighter winds than Saturday. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Turning unsettled from the west again, with further bands of heavy rain or heavy showers, with a chance of thunder. Breezy at times with temperatures similar to previous days.

Predominantly cyclonic patterns are expected to dominate the UK. The early part of this period could see colder conditions becoming established more widely for a time, bringing with it the likelihood of some snow. Milder and wetter weather may however hang on in the far south. By the end of this period, the track of Atlantic depressions may shift a little further north than during the last few weeks. This will maintain broadly unsettled weather, with further spells of rain and perhaps strong winds at times. Many parts may become somewhat milder, given more of a westerly influence, though there remains the chance that colder conditions could linger towards the northeast.

Broadly changeable conditions are expected across the UK during this period. Low pressure systems will probably dominate, meaning showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times, for much of the UK, and still the chance of some hill snow in the north. Some drier interludes are likely, though it must be said, flooding impacts remain possible given recent very wet weather. Windy conditions look probable from time to time. Temperatures probably close to or a little above average overall, with a reduced chance, compared to earlier thinking, of a late season prolonged cold spell.
