Storm Claudia brings persistent rain, this turning heavy in many areas, leading to a risk of flooding and challenging driving conditions. Windy too, with gale force winds in places. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

The wind and rain continuing for a time this evening but heavier spells of rain easing overnight. Cloudy skies remain, likely leading to a murky start. A chillier night ahead. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Saturday:

Often cloudy on Saturday with some spots of drizzle at times, mainly around hills. Windy to start though any strong, gusty winds easing. Feeling colder. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A cloudy start to Sunday though turning a little brighter later. Feeling notably colder in northerly winds. Much brighter from Monday but a chance of more cloud on Tuesday.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all parts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears Wednesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period, there is likely to be a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
