Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Early cloud, wintry showers west soon clear, the wind eases down later Monday. Becoming cloudy with rain or drizzle Tuesday. Further rain, showers follow southeast Wednesday.

A broad northwest to southeast split is expected across the UK during this period. The northwest is likely to be more unsettled with low pressure systems moving in at times, bringing showers or longer spells of rain. Strong winds are also possible, particularly along coasts. In the southeast, high pressure will have greater influence, with more settled, drier weather as a result. Temperatures overall are likely to be near to or slightly above normal.

High pressure may be dominant early in this period, which would bring plenty of dry and settled weather across the UK, especially in the south. Any low pressure systems bringing wetter, windier weather are most likely to affect the north.
