Rip currents can occur on any beach but this beach has a greater risk of rips. Take care in the water.

    Early sleet and snow soon clears eastwards, then brighter conditions follow before a narrow band of heavy rain, moves quickly east through the afternoon. Rather cold and windy. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

    Tonight:

    Mostly cloudy with isolated heavy showers, possibly becoming more persistent for a time over the Pennines, mostly dry by the end of the night. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

    Monday:

    Bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, these sometimes heavy and falling as snow on hills. Winds easing through the day but a strong coastal breeze developing overnight. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Tuesday risk of wintry, coastal showers with bright or sunny spells. Wednesday probably dry but cloudier. Similar Thursday but brighter later.
