A rather cloudy day with some scattered showers, occasionally heavy in the west. Showers becoming less widespread later this afternoon with some clearer skies developing in the west. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Becoming mainly dry this evening although a few showers continuing across Argyll overnight. Otherwise the rest of the night will be largely dry with clear periods. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Wednesday:

A mainly dry and brighter day with some sunny intervals. Still a few showers around, these mainly across Argyll. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Showers along the west coast on Thursday, otherwise dry. Mainly dry, cold and windy on Friday and Saturday, a few showers along the west coast.

UK long range weather forecast

An increasingly cold northerly flow to start this period, which will be showery around coastal areas but there will be some brighter spells inland. The showers could be wintry at times over the high ground in the far north. Into the following week conditions will likely turn increasingly changeable as a more westerly pattern develops. This will likely allow outbreaks of rain and some periods of stronger winds to spread into the UK from the Atlantic, but there will however be some drier interludes at times. The wettest weather will probably be in the north and west but much of the UK will see rain at times. Temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly below normal for the time of year.
