Cloudy with outbreaks of rain over the Western Isles otherwise the morning will begin cold with a sharp frost and sunny spells. The day will continue dry as high cloud spreads northeast from the morning. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

The evening will be dry with lowering cloud. Outbreaks of rain and snow will spread northeast from the late evening. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Sunday:

Early snow will soon clear east to leave showery rain with bright spells increasing in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudy, frequent wintry showers west Monday. Mostly dry, bright, a few coastal showers west Tuesday. Mostly dry Wednesday, frequent afternoon showers north.

Showers or longer spells of rain as well as occasional strong winds are most likely as Atlantic low pressure systems dominate in the vicinity of the UK. Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow probable at times, mainly on high ground in the north. Temperatures varying from around or a little above average, especially in the south, to cold at times, especially in the north. While unsettled weather is likely to dominate, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
