A few wintry showers through the evening and overnight, these mainly in the north and western coasts with areas further inland drier. Frost and icy patches. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Friday:

Mostly cloudy with some bright intervals and wintry showers in the north and west. Fewer showers elsewhere with sunny spells. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry with sunny spells Saturday, turning cloudier later. Winds strengthen on Sunday with coastal gales as a band of rain and snow spreads eastwards. Showers on Monday.

Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow at times in the north, mainly on high ground. Temperatures varying from around average to cold at times, especially in the north. While unsettled weather is likely to continue, there may be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
