A bright start with sunny spells but cloud increasing with patchy rain reaching Orkney from mid-morning. The patchy rain reaches Shetland in the afternoon with some sunny spells developing across Orkney. Occasionally fresh southeasterly breeze. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tonight:
Some evening sunshine across Orkney with cloud and patchy rain across Shetland dying. Then a dry night with some long clear spells developing. Strengthening southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Thursday:
A dry and bright day with good spells of sunshine around, however cloud will increase through the evening with showery rain reaching Orkney towards midnight. Strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Overnight rain clearing to leave Friday dry with sunny spells. Rather cloudy Saturday with outbreaks of rain, perhaps occasionally heavy and thundery. Becoming drier and brighter from South on Sunday.
