Today:

Cloudy with some patchy rain affecting some southern and eastern parts of the region at first. Otherwise, largely dry with some bright spells into the early afternoon. Cloud and outbreaks of rain then develop from the south through the evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, some locally heavy. A strengthening easterly breeze developing, giving a chillier feel later in the night. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Friday:

A wet day with further heavy and persistent rain throughout. This will be accompanied by a strong and gusty east wind. Feeling colder, especially toward the north of the region. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday, likely cloudy with rain slowly easing. Still windy and feeling colder. Gradually becoming drier and brighter Sunday. Monday, mostly dry and bright, some coastal showers. Breezy and feeling chilly.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all pasts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears later Tuesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November and into December are inevitably very uncertain, there is a signal for largely unsettled or at least changeable conditions across the UK, with the flow tending to come mainly from the Atlantic. This means spells of wind and rain are likely for most if not all parts, with a risk of some snow, mainly in the north over high ground. Some drier, brighter interludes are also likely, with an associated risk of frost and fog. Temperatures are likely to be near or a little above normal overall.
