A dry morning with some long spells of sunshine and light winds. Turning cloudier through the afternoon as rain spreads eastwards, feeling chilly with winds freshening too. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Rain moving away east with some clear spells developing for a time, cloud and rain spreading east in the early hours. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Sunday:

A wet and windy start on Sunday but some drier and brighter conditions developing in the north for a time, further rain later, turning heavy at times, strong winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Turning cooler on Monday with some rain, drier and brighter on Tuesday and Wednesday with plenty of March sunshine.

Much of this period looks like being largely dominated by high pressure, especially towards the south or southeast of the UK. This will mean many places seeing plenty of dry weather with variable cloud amounts and some sunshine, the best of this towards the south or southeast, but perhaps with some fog overnight. However, frontal systems are still likely to affect the north and west of the UK at times though, maybe also briefly affecting other parts, bringing some rain and strong winds, and perhaps a little snow to the high ground in the north. Temperatures will be near or above normal, although patchy overnight frost is still likely at times.

Little change at first, probably most unsettled in the west and northwest but drier and brighter toward the east and southeast. Lower confidence late-March but perhaps a trend toward more blocked and slow-moving weather patterns, although uncertain whether this will lead to cyclonic and so more unsettled weather or anti-cyclonic, more settled and maybe colder patterns in the vicinity of the UK. In general, some rain still probable but distribution of any wetter areas is extremely low confidence. Temperatures overall near or above average, perhaps with a slightly increasing chance this may trend colder toward the end of the month.
