A bright morning on Tuesday with sunny spells. More cloud this afternoon with scattered showers possibly merging at times into longer spells of rain. The breeze steadily easing but maintaining a cooler feel. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy this evening with further showers likely. Drier after midnight with clear spells and fog patches by dawn. Slight frost inland. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Wednesday:

Many parts dry on Wednesday with northern parts seeing long sunny spells. More cloud and scattered mainly light showers may affect southern parts later. Breezy near the south coast. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Further spells of heavy rain likely during Thursday morning. Dry for much of Friday after a colder, misty start. Scattered blustery showers on Saturday, may turn heavy at times.

Likely a continuation of the unsettled conditions seen for much of the week with further showers or some longer spells of rain affecting much of the country. On Saturday a frontal zone is expected to move east and this could bring a spell of locally heavy rain, particularly on hills exposed to the strong southerly winds. Behind this turning brighter but with showers, some of which could be heavy and thundery. Its possible we could then see yet more organised, locally heavy rain move across most areas on Monday. Generally temperatures will be close to average, but it will likely feel quite chilly in the often wet and breezy conditions. However we are unlikely to see much in the way of frost or fog in this unsettled spell.

There is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the unsettled patterns we are likely to see through the first couple of weeks of December, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
