Rain, often heavy, will quickly move east accompanied by windy conditions with coastal gales likely. Overnight clear spells, showers and lighter winds will follow. Later most showers will die away. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Saturday sunny spells and scattered showers, which may be heavy at times. Breezy for many places with temperatures close to average. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Sunday outbreaks of rain spread northeast. Monday bright and breezy with a chance of showers then wet and windy conditions arrive overnight, gradually clearing east through Tuesday. Generally mild.

A short spell of mainly settled weather is expected for the first couple of days of this period, with any rain or showers in the far north or west, and the rest of the UK mainly dry. Thereafter, low pressure systems will tend to dominate, bringing showers or longer spells of rain to much of the UK. Some heavy rain or showers are expected, with the wettest conditions overall in the west of the UK. Snow will probably be confined to high ground in the north. Periods of strong wind are possible, especially around coasts and if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly above.

This period is likely to be changeable, with further spells of rain or showers and some strong winds at times, especially in the west and northwest. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. However, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather, compared to the unsettled conditions we are likely to see through the first couple of weeks of December. This will increase the chances of overnight fog and frost. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
