Today:

Mainly dry today, chance of an isolated shower this morning. Rather cloudy but some bright or sunny spells breaking through this afternoon. Pleasantly warm in any sunshine. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

This evening will be dry with some late brightness. Rain will spread across western areas during the early hours, but remaining dry across the east. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday:

Rain spreading east through the morning. Drier with bright spells in the afternoon along with a few showers, these turning heavy in the west later. Colder than of late. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry with some sunshine on Friday, outbreaks of rain spreading northeast in the evening. Mainly dry on Saturday. Breezy with showers on Sunday.

It will likely remain rather changeable during the first part of this period with showers or occasional longer spells of rain affecting many areas. Whether this takes the form of successive weather systems pushing in from the Atlantic or a more slowly evolving weather pattern remains rather unclear. There may also be some drier and brighter interludes and when winds are light, it should feel quite warm, despite temperatures most likely being close to normal for most. Later in the month more blocked weather patterns become more likely, with high pressure in the vicinity of the UK. This increases the probability of more settled weather, especially in the north but there may still be periods of rain or showers, especially in the south.

Blocked patterns with high pressure near to the UK will probably be dominant during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, especially in the south, where rainfall amounts could be above average. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
