Cloudy this evening with some showery rain and hill snow. Mainly dry in the early hours although the odd shower possible in the west. Patchy frost and ice. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Monday:

Mainly dry in the morning. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and hill snow will spread southeast later in the afternoon and evening more especially across the north. Cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Early wintry showers on Tuesday otherwise dry and bright. Dry and cold on Wednesday and Thursday with overnight frost, locally severe across the west.

Showers or longer spells of rain as well as occasional strong winds are most likely as Atlantic low pressure systems dominate in the vicinity of the UK. Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow probable at times, mainly on high ground in the north. Temperatures varying from around or a little above average, especially in the south, to cold at times, especially in the north. While unsettled weather is likely to dominate, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
