Today:

Any residual overnight rain will soon clear eastwards, with sunny spells following. This afternoon scattered blustery showers will arrive from the west, some heavy with a chance of hail and thunder. Temperatures above average but feeling cooler with breezy conditions. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Dry and largely clear with winds becoming light until late tonight when a band of rain, locally heavy and perhaps thundery, arrives from the west. Becoming chilly. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

Heavy rain clears east through the morning, then dry with sunny periods followed by a clear evening. Breezy with temperatures slightly below average. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Generally cloudy, mild and often windy. Monday and Tuesday some outbreaks of rain arrive but with drier and brighter spells in-between. Wednesday patchy rain is likely, probably becoming widespread later.

The changeable and at times unsettled weather is likely to continue to start this period, with low pressure dominating the UK. This means further showers or longer spells of rain at times. All parts could see some heavy rain, but it is likely that western areas will be wettest. Strong winds are likely at times, with gales possible in the west. Equally there should also be some drier or clearer interludes, these more prevalent further east. A transition to a less unsettled pattern is possible later in the period making drier interludes more common. Above average temperatures are most likely, with a reduced incidence of overnight frost and fog, compared to normal, especially at first.

A transition to a less unsettled pattern is possible through mid-November. With time, there is a greater chance of incidences of high pressure bringing more in the way of dry weather, but also increasing the chances of overnight fog and frost. There may however still be periods of rain, showers, and stronger winds, especially in the west. Weather patterns are very uncertain during late November. Overall, near or above average temperatures are most likely though some colder spells are possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
