Cullercoats

High 1037 just east of the Azores extends a ridge northeast to the UK Thursday night. The ridge will decline southeast Saturday before moving into the Baltic Sea Sunday while the high moves towards the Canaries before declining late Sunday. Low 1000 67N 001E deepens as it moves into the Barents Sea Friday. Low 986 74N 015W deepens as it tracks into the Denmark Strait Friday. Lows 1012 develop on the associated trough, across Shannon, during Saturday then weaken as they push northeast towards Shetland Sunday. High 1041 Great Lakes Thursday evening moves into the Atlantic Friday before moving to the Azores Saturday and Sunday. Low 980 develops 55N 050W Sunday deepens 969 57N 038W by late Sunday. Gales spread east into Fair Isle Friday where they weaken Friday afternoon. No further gales are expected during this period

Niton

Lows 1012 develop on the associated trough, across Shannon, during Saturday then weaken as they push northeast towards Shetland Sunday. High 1041 Great Lakes Thursday evening moves into the Atlantic Friday before moving to the Azores Saturday and Sunday. Low 980 develops 55N 050W Sunday deepens 969 57N 038W by late Sunday. Gales build briefly across southeastern Fitzroy and northeastern Trafalgar during Friday, no further gales are expected during this period

Portpatrick

Low 1000 67N 001E deepens as it moves into the Barents Sea Friday. Low 986 74N 015W deepens as it tracks into the Denmark Strait Friday. Lows 1012 develop on the associated trough, across Shannon, during Saturday then weaken as they push northeast towards Shetland Sunday. High 1041 Great Lakes Thursday evening moves into the Atlantic Friday before moving to the Azores Saturday and Sunday. Low 980 develops 55N 050W Sunday deepens 969 57N 038W by late Sunday. A band of gales pushes east across all except southern areas Friday before easing from the west later Saturday. A further band follows over Bailey and South East Iceland for a time during Saturday. No further gales are expected

For the extended outlooks the waters surrounding the British Isles are divided into three areas: Cullercoats, Portpatrick and Niton. These three areas reflect the coverage areas of the UK's Navtex transmitters, which overlap in some areas.

The extended outlook forecast contains details of the likelihood of gales or storms, a general synopsis and a general forecast for the area of coverage of each Navtex transmitter.
