Low 969 expected west of Rockall Friday evening, then expected 984 over Rockall by midday Saturday, before losing its identity later Saturday. New low 971 expected west of Rockall by midday Sunday, moving north or northeast and becoming multi-centred with primary low expected 981 west of Bailey and secondary low expected 987 over Fisher by midday Monday. Another low 960 expected west of Sole by midday Monday. Strong winds are expected to spread across the region from the southwest from Friday evening onwards, with gales in Tyne, Dogger and Humber for a time during Friday night. Strong winds then gradually ease in the south Saturday afternoon, but continue in the north until Sunday afternoon. Further strong winds then spread in from the south on Sunday evening, affecting Forties, Tyne, Dogger, Fisher, German Bight, Humber, Thames and Dover, with gales in Dogger, German Bight and Humber for a time during Sunday night. Strong winds then ease for all on Monday afternoon

Gales are expected in Portland, Plymouth, Biscay, Fitzroy, Sole, Fastnet, Irish Sea and Shannon from Friday evening onwards, with strong winds elsewhere. Gales then moderating on Saturday morning, but strong winds continue for all sea areas until Saturday evening. Further strong winds then spread in from the west on Saturday night, with gales possible in Fitzroy, Sole and Shannon during Sunday. Strong winds and gales then ease in the south on Sunday night, but further gales and severe gales at times spread in from the southwest on Monday

Gales are expected in Fastnet, Irish Sea, Shannon, Rockall, Malin, Hebrides and Bailey from Friday evening onwards, with strong winds elsewhere. Gales then moderating on Saturday morning, but strong winds continue for all sea areas apart from Irish Sea and Malin. Further gales are then expected in Shannon, Rockall, Bailey and South East Iceland at times during Sunday and Monday, however strong winds ease in the far north and east of the region

For the extended outlooks the waters surrounding the British Isles are divided into three areas: Cullercoats, Portpatrick and Niton. These three areas reflect the coverage areas of the UK's Navtex transmitters, which overlap in some areas.
The extended outlook forecast contains details of the likelihood of gales or storms, a general synopsis and a general forecast for the area of coverage of each Navtex transmitter.
