Cullercoats
High 1030 extending from Fitzroy to southern Biscay Sunday evening will begin to sink southeast Sunday night. At the same time high 1008 north of Jan Mayen moves southeast to be situated over northern Scandinavia by mid Tuesday. This high continues east into Finland during Wednesday. Low 994 Viking Sunday evening will move steadily southeast through Monday and in the Baltic Monday night. Low 982 58N 024W becomes complex my Monday morning and amalgamates with low 976 45N 045W as it moves northeast during Monday. This low complex continues northeast through Monday before moving over Iceland Tuesday and then clearing north during Wednesday. Low 991 develops over the northern Norwegian Basin Wednesday before moving towards Svalbard in the afternoon. Low 1003 34N 074W will deepen as it moves into the North Atlantic Wednesday then towards Faeroe Wednesday. Gales, severe at times, spread from Fair Isle southeast to Fisher during Tuesday and Wednesday

For the extended outlooks the waters surrounding the British Isles are divided into three areas: Cullercoats, Portpatrick and Niton. These three areas reflect the coverage areas of the UK's Navtex transmitters, which overlap in some areas.
The extended outlook forecast contains details of the likelihood of gales or storms, a general synopsis and a general forecast for the area of coverage of each Navtex transmitter.
