Outbreaks rain western Isles, mostly dry, bright start, soon cloudy.

Today:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain over the Western Isles otherwise the morning will begin cold with a sharp frost and sunny spells. The day will continue dry as high cloud spreads northeast from the morning. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

The evening will be dry with lowering cloud. Outbreaks of rain and snow will spread northeast from the late evening. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Sunday:

Early snow will soon clear east to leave showery rain with bright spells increasing in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudy, frequent wintry showers west Monday. Mostly dry, bright, a few coastal showers west Tuesday. Mostly dry Wednesday, frequent afternoon showers north.

While unsettled weather is likely to dominate, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
